The ‘Oosterschelde’, pictured passing on its way to Tenerife, built in 1918 is the largest restored Dutch freight ship, and privately owned.  The 3 masted top sail schooner was completely refurbished between 1988 and 1992 and can carry up to 24 fare paying guests. It has, since its restoration, travelled around the world twice.   Its mast is some 118 feet (36 metres) and has an overall length of 164 feet (50 metres).  Can also be powered by a 450 horse power 6 cylinder John Deere engine.  (John Deere renowned U.S. tractor manufacturer)
